IMACS is a global center of excellence advancing the use of climate and health data to create resilient health systems capable of accurately predicting and preventing the spread of climate-sensitive diseases.

The Institute was launched in 2022 with generous funding from the Crown Prince Court of Abu Dhabi, to support the design and implementation of new digital solutions to build climate-resilient health systems that can predict and prevent the spread of disease in the context of climate change.

Kaushik is one of the founding incubators of IMACS and has led this center of excellence to become a pioneer of advanced digital innovations, a hub of scientific knowledge, and a trusted provider of technical assistance to the most vulnerable countries.

  • Under Kaushik's leadership, IMACS currently convenes over 40 distinguished scientists from around the world who work in health, hydrology, meteorology, geography, earth observations, and data science.

  • As the center's chief technologist and lead PI for all intramural R&D, Kaushik manages an entire portfolio of innovative digital solutions that enable informed policy formulation, improved service delivery, and enhanced project and initiative monitoring.

  • IMACS supports national malaria control programs by providing technical assistance in health system strengthening and precision programming. Currently, Kaushik leads IMACS’s TA in India and Indonesia and has been expanding its global footprint and collaborations with national governments, partners, donors, and stakeholders.
